Ms.Jay behind bars now

TamilNadu is in total chaos as TamilNadu’s Chief Minister Ms.J.Jayalalithaa was arrested. She was then sent to jail in Bangalore. The disproportionate asset case which dragged for 18 long years, finally ended putting her behind bars. The court declared her guilty and asked her to pay Rs.100 crore as penalty and sentenced her for 4 years imprisonment. The others namely Sasikala, Sudhakarn and Elavarasi were sentenced for 4 years and were ordered to pay Rs.10 crore each.

The members of AIADMK came down to streets to protest and voice against this verdict. Many supporters and followers of AIADMK involved themselves in stone pelting, self immolation and effigy burning all across the state. AIADMK members tried to storm into Karunadhi’s house after the verdict. It has also been declared that she cannot contest the election for 10 years.

It is been clear that Ms. Jay’s lawyers are on the process to get stay against the verdict.

Next CM for TamilNadu will be Mr.O Pannerselvam. His swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for today.
