The most significant event that took place this month is the Republic Day function. The Republic Day function was stunning with parades. The US President Mr.Obama’s presence as our honorable chief guest made this as a striking event. This event is to be noted as Mr.Obama is said to be the only president to have visited India twice. His speech contained matters about the next projects that would be done with India. On the final day of his visit Mr.Obama'speech focused mainly about women’s rights and religious freedom.

He in his speech said about India's religious culture and customs from his perspective. He said that universalism matters a lot. He also said that no matter how many religions are followed, all stressed towards achieving compassion and empathy, establishing peace and harmony among each other.

He also mentioned in his speech that his inspirations were Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi, as both followed the path of non-violence. He stressed on matters like universalism. 

His speech and his visit to India has created hope in many that this year will be a flourishing one for both as this event would have certainly enhanced the relationship between both the nations.
