Being a part of NSS
-Abbhirami
Any work that is done as a team has its impact. Whatever it might
be or how simple that work is. Team work pays a lot more than working individually.
You and I are a part of this society. We tend to hear people saying that each
must have to contribute something or other to make this society better and
healthier. Enhancing the society mentally, physically, spiritually all makes
the society to become stronger and least vulnerable.
“Not me but you” - is the very motto of this program, NSS. National
Service Scheme is the program that has its sole objective to serve the society
in the best way it can. This program is brought to school students and colleges
nationwide. Through this program students tend to know about the happenings in
the society and the measures that can be taken to solve problems that are
currently troubling the society. Many awareness programs related to human
rights, women empowerment and societal issues are discussed and students use
street plays, skits, mimes and road rallies to voice out their views and
solutions to some serious problems.
People tend to forget that this program also talks about and gives
attention to issues like the energy resources and much more topic similar to
this. I, being a part of this program in my college have learnt many new
serious issues that we tend to miss out. Bringing out the change, being a part
of it is what I’m waiting to see.
