India’s proud institutions, the IIMs have taken their position in the global rank list. IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore are the IIMs that are regarded as the oldest institutions that were established before the market economy model was adopted by India. These institutions sought some help from America and stood high. These institutions are remarkably doing well and holding their position as they are aware of what is best for them to help them raise their standards.

Having the government involving in their work is currently the matter of concern. The government of India has decided to pass the Indian Institute of Management Bill 2015 which would regulate some of its features. Having the government involving in the institution’s works, doubts their autonomous functionality. The institutions are not clear and have no idea, to what extend this bill would make changes in their structure. But still we cannot deny the fact that government will make no positive changes. The government has decided to convert the diplomas awarded by IIMs into degrees, which is one of the long-held demands. But the involvement of the government in their work has put them in distress.

Taking IIMs into consideration will make this much beneficial to both the institution and the government while passing the Bill.
