Yes. Couple days back, I noticed that my router( NETGEAR WNR612) was not connecting to the network. I thought there was a glitch in the router but later I tried to login to admin dashboard to find what had happened. It was hacked! The password was changed.

And then after a day I got this article, stating that more than 500,000 routers ( NETGEAR, LINKSYS, TPLINK) were hacked.

Let me tell you what to do if you are trying to change your password.( not that simple if you have a firmware version of 1.0.0.26)

Before starting this. Please reset( a small hole, which is at the back of your router, press it for 15 seconds) the router that you are trying to connect to your CPU.

1) First of connect your RJ45 from router to your CPU.

2) Then login into www.routerlogin.net, Username: admin, Password: password

3) Never upgrade your firmware to 1.0.0.26. If you have upgraded. Just get to this website and downgrade to 1.0.0.18(.http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WNR612V3/wnr612v3_wnr500-V1.0.0.18.zip) Wifi password or Network password cannot be changed in 1.0.0.26 downgrading your firmware will help you have your own password set.

4) Then try to connect you mobile devices to the router with the password that you have set.

5) All set to go!
